Toshiro Mifune plays a badass samurai who’s out to make a profit in a town that’s defining features are two rival gangs and a guy with a giant hammer. Someone might need a Band-Aid by the time everything’s over.

Singin’ in the Rain
1952. USA. Dir: Stanley Donen, Gene Kelly. With Gene Kelly. 103min.
R.F. Simpson has a big problem on his hands when he realizes that the leading actress in his new movie has a voice like Minnie Mouse. How can Gene Kelly remedy the situation? By dancing his ass off.

Lifeboat
1944. USA. Dir: Alfred Hitchcock. With Tallulah Bankhead. 96min.
The eclectic crew of a sunken WWII battleship find themselves stranded on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. Things get interesting when they unexpectedly pull a U-boat commander out of the water. Lifeboat ranks among Hitchcock’s best.

also, despite my best efforts, no Akira next fall. I guess you cant get a print of it. Bummer.
